Chemistry.com: It takes a more scientific approach to matching singles through the use of their patented personality profile.
Chemistry.com which is a partner site to Match.com, aims to pair compatible singles through a variety of personalized options and chemistry tests. The site boasts its ability to help members get to know someone online in order to make the first date feel like the second. Is a solid choice for commitment-minded singles. It makes the matches to potential mates for you after you complete a fairly extensive questionnaire. However, its matching algorithm is based on personality types, rather than demographics and interests.
How it works
Chemistry.com’s registration begins with a fun personality quiz that takes about 30-40 minutes. Questions range from multiple choice and short answer, to a selection of images.
The sections include:
- My Personality
- About Me
- About My Match
- In My Own Words
- My Photos
After completing the questionnaire, you’re shown your personality type as a mixture of four different types: explorer, director, negotiator and builder; it’s this mixture that is used by the matchmaking algorithm to find your matches. You can’t search the site — you must wait for the site to send you matches– and you must subscribe to contact people (or wait for the periodic “free communication weekend”). When you find a match, Chemistry.com guides you through a multi-step communication process.
How much does it cost?
Free membership in Chemistry.com allows you to complete the personality test devised by Dr. Helen Fisher, access your personality profile, view photos of the matches chosen for you and receive daily personalized matches. Chemistry.com offers monthly memberships.
